January 7, 2025 -- City officials have issued an Evacuation Order for all areas of Santa Monica north of San Vicente Boulevard due to an "immediate threat to life" from the Pacific Palisades fire.

"This is a lawful order to LEAVE NOW," the alert issued at 7:38 p.m. states. "The area is closed to public access."

Meanwhile, an Evacuation Warning has been issued for all areas north of Montana to San Vicente due to "a potential threat to life and/or property.

"Those who require additional time to evacuate, and those with pets should leave now. (Map/Updates: SantaMonica.gov)

The City has deployed emergency services to the affected areas and suspended street sweeping, trash/recycling/bulky item/alley pickup and Montana Branch Library services.

There is free Big Blue Bus transport to the Palisades Fire evacuation center at Westwood Recreation Center, 1350 S. Sepulveda Boulevard, starting at 8 p.m. Buses will leave hourly.

Pick-up locations are Ocean Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard and 7th Street and San Vicente Boulevard.
