Applications Available for Beach/Water Activity Permits

Please note that camps, clubs, schools, churches and other organized groups including more than twenty (20) children (17 years and younger), must have a Beach/Water Activity Permit to use Santa Monica beach for water activities. A Permit is required if there are more than twenty (20) children in the group and ANY of them will be entering the water.

Permits are issued as a way to better manage the use of the beach by large groups and to assist the Los Angeles County Lifeguards in determining proper staffing of the lifeguard towers.

A limited number of Beach/Water Activity Permits will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis for the period of June 18, 2007 to August 31, 2007. Permits are site and time specific and are issued for Monday-Friday only. Permits are not valid on weekends or holidays.
