September 22, 2025 -- Santa Monica is toasting its 150th anniversary with a "vintage revival" at the site of a beer hall that opened the year the City was born.
The event scheduled to be held at Santa Monica's oldest existing structure is funded by one of eight City microgrants to support celebrations through the end of the year.
"Out of 20 applicants, the review panel selected eight –- with a total of $16,470 to be awarded -- that best aligned with one or more of the goals of the 150th anniversary initiative," said Cultural Affairs Supervisor Allison Ostrovsky.
The events celebrate "community history and diversity, honoring achievement, addressing inequities and fostering connection," Ostrovsky said.
