November 21, 2025 -- If you don't have a spare bedroom to put up a holiday guest or simply want to experience Santa Monica the way visitors do, tourism officials have an offer for you.
Santa Monica Travel & Tourism (SMTT) this week announced the return of the popular “I Wish I Had an Extra Bedroom” program, which helps residents book discounted stays at participating local hotels.
The program -- which launched Monday and runs through February 9 -- offers Santa Monica residents the perfect chance to "invite loved ones to experience a stay in the city or enjoy a relaxing staycation of their own."
“‘I Wish I Had an Extra Bedroom’ continues to be a well-loved opportunity for Santa Monica residents to welcome visiting friends and family or experience our beautiful city as a guest,” SMTT officials said.
“We are proud to work with local hotel partners to make the season brighter for residents and travelers alike.”
To take advantage of the program, residents must show proof of Santa Monica residency at check-in when booking a stay for themselves or their guests.
Special booking instructions and offer details for each hotel are available at santamonica.com/extra-bedroom.
Participating hotels and offers for the 2025–2026 season include:

Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows: Up to 25% off

Sandbourne Santa Monica: 20% off
