Local Man Charged with Wife's Murder By Lookout Staff February 12, 2025 -- A Santa Monica man has been charged with the murder of his wife as she left a religious meeting in Encino with their young son last week, the LA District Attorney announced Wednesday. Sean Farzan, 64, was charged Monday with one count of first-degree murder and one count of felony child abuse under circumstances or conditions likely to cause great bodily injury or death, the DA'office said. If convicted as charged, Farzan faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Farzan allegedly shot and killed his wife, Linda Farzan, 54, on February 5 amid their pending divorce, the DA's office said. He fled on foot but was arrested nearby. Farzan is being held without bail. His arraignment is set for next Thursday in the Van Nuys Courthouse. The case is being prosecuted by the Family Violence Division and was investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department. “This was a tragic and deeply disturbing shooting that took place in front of a child,” said District Attorney Nathan Hochman. “No family should ever have to endure such a tragedy. "We will do everything in our power to ensure that the person responsible is held fully accountable for this senseless and brutal crime. We will continue to support the victim’s loved ones as this case moves forward.” |
