August 11, 2025 -- Kick off Saturday mornings with a "breezy" group run that starts under the iconic Santa Monica Pier sign, then relax to the waves at the Pier's end with a session of yoga.
Wellness & Waves -- the free fitness series that continues each Saturday through October 11 -- invites the community to "embrace self-care and coastal vibes" in the "most iconic outdoor setting in Los Angeles."
The run starts at 8 a.m. and is "perfect for runners of all levels." It is followed at 9 a.m. by a one-hour Yoga-Pilates Fusion class "led by a rotating lineup of celebrated instructors from some of the Westside’s top wellness studios."

The free event welcomes everyone from a beginner to a seasoned yogi, organizers said. Participants should bring a yoga mat, a water bottle and "positive energy."
"Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Pacific Ocean, participants can unwind and find their inner peace as they stretch and breathe in the salty sea air," organizers said.
Launched in 2022 as part of an effort to attract locals to the renowned visitor destination, the program "offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life."
Wellness & Waves "gives individuals an opportunity to explore their boundaries in a safe, outdoor environment," organizers said.
Sessions are free and open to all fitness levels, but advance registration is encouraged at santamonicapier.org/wellness-and-waves.
The program is presented by the Santa Monica Pier Corporation in partnership with Google Store Santa Monica, Good Body Pilates, shefayoga Venice, Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier, Lifeway Kefir and Santa Monica Travel & Tourism (SMTT).
