As it has done during every post-season game, the amusement park's iconic 90-foot Ferris wheel on the Pier lit up Wednesday night in a vibrant display of Dodgers blue and white.
The world's only solar-powered wheel showcased the LA insignia and scrolled “Dodgers Win!” and “Go Dodgers!” messages to celebrate the 7 to 6 victory that clinched the series in five games.
The showdown began at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles with the first two games before heading to Yankee Stadium in New York for what turned out to be the final three games.
Fans across the nation tuned in to watch the games broadcast nationally on Fox as landmarks across the city lit up, from LAX to City Hall.
Standing nine-stories high, Pacific Park's Ferris Wheel features 174,000 LED lights mounted on the wheel’s 40 spokes and two hubs.
The brilliant display turned the nighttime ocean a vibrant blue as it celebrated the eighth World Series title since the Dodgers moved from Brooklyn to LA before the 1958 season.
While in Brooklyn, the Dodgers build a fierce crosstown rivalry with the Yankees in the Bronx, facing each other seven times in the World Series.
Wednesday's victory marked the seventh time the Dodgers have won the World Series inc moving to Los Angeles.
