December 23, 2024 -- City Hall will be open until noon on Christmas Eve and shut down on Christmas Day as the City scales back or suspends its services Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Christmas Day, the Big Blue Bus will operate on a weekend schedule, while the transit store will close at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday and all day Wednesday.
Rapids 3, 7, and 10 and Routes 5, 15, 16, 41, 43 and 44 will not be in service on Wednesday, while the Hilgard Terminal serving UCLA riders will also be closed.
Parking meters will not be enforced on Christmas, except for meters that are enforced daily according to posted signage. Meters that are enforced daily must be paid.
In addition, preferential Parking (residential/visitor permits) will not be enforced on Christmas and street cleaning will be suspended on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
There will also be no refuse, recycling, or yard/green waste collection on Christmas Day.
All City of Santa Monica beach lots and pay-by-space lots are enforced 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, including Christmas Day.
The Annenberg Community Beach House's gated area and Guest Services will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and all day on Christmas, but the parking lot and beach access will remain open both days.
The Tennis office at Reed Park, the office at Memorial Park and the gymnasium, as well as The Cove Skatepark will be closed on Christmas.
Also closed will be the Santa Monica Public Library, the offices at Virginia Avenue Park and the Police Activities League Youth Center, and the Santa Monica Swim Center.
