March 4, 2022 -- Police on Friday arrested an armed felon who shot up a garage door and held up a Jack in the Box on Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting took place at around 1 p.m. at an occupied dwelling on the 800 block of Pico Boulevard, said Lt. Rudy Flores, the Police Department spokesman.
Officers responding to a report of gunshots "found several spent handgun shell casings and learned that an unknown individual had fired multiple rounds into a garage door," Flores said.
No injuries have been linked to during this incident, according to police. |
At around 2:10 p.m. on the same day, an armed robbery took place at the Jack in the Box at 2025 Lincoln Boulevard.
The male suspect involved "was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun" and was "seen fleeing the scene in a dark colored sedan," Flores said.
Detectives investigating both incidents "concluded that one male suspect was responsible for both crimes," Flores said.
On Friday, detectives located and arrested Arnoldo Martinez, a 33- year-old-male, in the Newton area of South Los Angeles, police said.
When he was arrested, Martinez was armed with an unserialized loaded firearm (“ghost-gun”), ammunition, a knife and narcotics, Flores said.
He was transported to Santa Monica Jail and booked for armed robbery, shooting an inhabited dwelling and being a felon in possession of a loaded firearm.
