February 28, 2019 -- The Pico Youth and Family Center (PYFC) will host its 10th Annual Art for Hearts Fundraiser on Saturday to support underserved youth, the organization announced.

The charity event -- which features an auction of uniquely painted wooden hearts by more than 70 renowned local artists -- takes place from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Bergamot Art Station, Gallery B1.

The artists include muralist Judy Baca, LA Times cartoonist and Bordertown co-creator Lalo Alcaraz, as well as internationally recognized artists Antonio Pelayo, Alex Kizu, Fabian Debora, Ernie Lucero, Luis Brizuela, Gus Harper and Juan Carlos Munoz Hernandez.

"PYFC is collaborating for the 10th year with artists, musicians and community leaders to assist us in raising funds to support underserved youth in our community who benefit from PYFC’s unique programs and services," organizers said.

The event includes a silent art auction, live music by Mayaztek, authentic fresh tacos, tequila tasting and wine.

Ticket are $20 or $35 per couple.

PYFC is a non-profit organization that has served the youth and families of Santa Monica for the past 17 years.

"PYFC has been credited in part for reducing gang membership and more importantly, youth violence in our City," said Oscar de la Torre, who heads the center.

PYFC is raising funds to support their Digital Dream Pathways, an initiative to expand training for youth in art, entertainment and technology.

Funds raised will also support PYFC’s groundbreaking Social Justice and Mindfulness Summer Camp for kids.
