Santa Monica Police Submit Findings in Sexual Assault Case Against Stallone |

June 14, 2018 -- Santa Monica police this week submitted their findings to Los Angeles County prosecutors in a sexual assault case reported last year against Oscar-award winning actor Sylvester Stallone. The alleged incident took place in Stallone's Santa Monica office in 1990 when the female accuser was a teenager, according to police and media reports. The LA County DA's sex crime task force is reviewing the case, according to Greg Risling, a spokesman at the DA's office. Santa Monica police declined to comment on the details of the case, saying the victim signed confidentiality forms with police. Lt. Saul Rodriguez, the police department spokesman, said some of the allegations have previously been reported. "It is my understanding the victim has been talking about this for some time," Rodriguez said. Police conducted an investigation of the allegations, Rodriguez said. "Detectives interviewed the victim thoroughly and spoke with several witnesses," he said. The department, however, did not file charges with the DA, Rodriguez added. It is unclear whether California’s ten-year statute of limitations applies in the case. Legislation signed into law in 2016 amends the California penal code to allow some sex crimes, including rape, forcible sodomy and molestation of a child, to be prosecuted regardless of when the crime occurred. Stallone's attorney, Martin Singer, said the 71-year-old actor, who starred in the "Rocky" and "Rambo" films, categorically disputed the claims. "It is a false claim," Singer told Fox 11/CNS. "It is a complete fabrication." Singer said Stallone had a consensual dating relationship with the woman years ago, according to the media report. "The woman here filed a police report to get a story published," he said.
