June 4, 2018 -- A man was stabbed in the Pico Neighborhood Saturday night and is in stable condition after undergoing surgery, Santa Monica Police said.

The "possible suspect" -- identified as Christopher Cosgrove, a 32 year old male from Santa Monica -- was arrested for attempted homicide, police said.

The victim was stabbed in the neck area shortly after 6 p.m. near 26th Street and Pico Boulevard, said Lt. Saul Rodrigues, the Police Department spokesman.

"Officers provided critical medical aid. Santa Monica Fire Department Paramedics responded and continued to render medical aid," Rodriguez said.

"The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment."

The case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office - Airport Division for filing consideration Tuesday, police said.
