June 5, 2014 -- The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce will come together next Wednesday to install new officers and plan for the future at its 89th Annual Installation Dinner.

The gala gathering of the city’s business community will be held at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows at 5:30 p.m.

“For 89 years, members of the Santa Monica Chamber have come together to celebrate the strength of the business community in our City and to thank our volunteer chair and board for their dedication in driving the mission of the Chamber forward,” said Chamber President Laurel Rosen.  “This year is no exception,”

Being honored this year are business leaders, including Jeff Jarow of Par Commercial, a winner of the Roy Naylor Award, and Morley Builders and Wells Fargo Advisors, winners of the Bob Gabriel Award.

“We also say ‘thank you’ to Chair Brad Cox of Trammell Crow and his wonderful board for their efforts this year and welcome new chair, Julia Ladd of Santa Monica Place/Macerich and wish her the very best in the coming year," said Rosen.

The yearly gathering of 500 business stakeholders, community and civic leaders begins with a reception under the historic fig tree in the Miramar’s front walk.
During the reception, attendees have an opportunity to bid on select items from local businesses and purchase a chance to win various raffle prizes.

The event moves into the Starlight Ballroom for a four-course dinner made with farm-fresh local ingredients created by renowned Chef Ray Garcia of Fig, said officials.
The event’s lead sponsors are Santa Monica Place and Hines.

New Board members will be formally sworn in at 4:30 p.m. before the reception. Tickets are $200, $175 for non-profits.
