Santa Monica Police Looking for Suspected Bank Robber

March 22, 2013 -- The Santa Monica Police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with the Wednesday robbery of a Union Bank on Montana Avenue.

The man, described as being in his late 40s, allegedly entered the bank just before 10 a.m. He then used a semi-automatic weapon to rob a teller.

The man was seen fleeing, on foot, through the bank's parking lot.

“Investigators are actively working the case,” Santa Monica Police Spokesperson Sergeant Richard Lewis said, adding that no photos of the suspect have been released.

Lewis said that more information will be forthcoming as the SMPD work with Federal investigators to find the suspect.
