March 11, 2013 -- Santa Monica Police are searching for an eight-year-old boy and his mother after the two went missing last Wednesday.

Authorities suspect that Adriana Joriel Johns kidnapped her son, Jounel Armon Taylor, after he spent the night with her at an “unknown residence.”

Johns “was supposed to take Taylor to school in the morning,” officials said. “ Instead, Johns, who lost custody of her son in December of 2012 to her mother, fled with her son to an unknown location.”

According to authorities, Taylor's grandmother, who has full custody of the eight-year-old, lives in Santa Monica.

Police officials added that Johns has stopped communicating with her mother.

Police describe Taylor as a black male, approximately four feet tall and 100 pounds. He has brown eyes and wears his hair in an afro, according to authorities.

Johns, a 27-year-old black woman. is five feet, eight inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.
