Pedestrian Killed by Hit and Run Driver |

By Lookout Staff October 27, 2011 -- A man crossing the street was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in downtown Santa Monica Wednesday morning. The victim, a white male between the ages of 65 and 70, was walking east across Lincoln Boulevard at the intersection of Santa Monica Boulevard, when he was run down by a southbound car. The driver didn't stop, but continued south on Lincoln Boulevard and out of sight. Police were called to the intersection at 5:52 a.m. and found the victim, who died at the scene. Authorities have not released the victim's name, pending notification of next of kin. Witnesses described the car as a 2009-2011 Toyota Camry, 4-door sedan, magnetic or charcoal gray metallic in color.
The vehicle is believed to have damage to the right front headlight assembly, hood, and will be missing a right-side mirror. Police have no information on the driver at this time.
