Three
Arrested in Ocean Park Burglary |
By Lookout Staff
October 3 – Three suspects were arrested this
week after burglarizing a residence in Ocean Park in the presence
of the victim.
The burglary took place Tuesday at around 3 p.m. on the 500 block
of Bay Street after the victim let the suspects in, said Sgt.
Renaldi Thurston, the Police Department spokesman.
“The suspects made up a story and asked the victim to allow them inside
her home to wash their hands,” Thurston said. “Once
inside, one suspect distracted the victim, while another suspect
stole the victim’s wallet from her purse.
“After noticing her wallet was taken, the victim wrote down the fleeing
suspects’ vehicle license plate number,” Thurston said.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division
later detained the suspects, who were positively identified by the victim, police
said.
The three were brought to the Santa Monica Police Department and booked for
burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime, Thurston said.
The suspects have been identified as Delilah Yonko, from Los Angeles; Laura
Mark-Stevens, from Hayward, and Tammy Boswell, who is transient.
The investigation is ongoing.
