Pedestrian Killed |

May 16 -- An elderly pedestrian was struck and killed
by a motorist in the Pico Neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.
The incident took place on the 1800 block of 10th Street at about 3:45 p.m.,
said Sgt. Renaldi Thurston, the Police Department spokesman.
Police responding to a call for service found an 84-year-old woman lying unconscious
near the street, Thurston said. Santa Monica Fire Department paramedics responded
and transported the woman to a local hospital, where she later died.
Investigators from the Santa Monica Police Department Major Accident Reconstruction
Team (MART) responded to the scene and are currently investigating this incident
as “a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision,” Thurston said.
