March 29 -- A two-car collision on Montana Avenue Wednesday morning sent a 74-year-old driver to the hospital after his vehicle hit a tree, police said.

A preliminary investigation found that the injured driver was travelling northbound on Euclid Street when he collided with a vehicle headed eastbound on Montana.

The vehicles collided at the intersection, and the northbound vehicle continued and struck a tree.

The driver of the first vehicle, a white 74-years-old male, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle was interviewed at the scene and released pending further investigation.
