August 3 -- A man
and two woman, all of them black,
were stabbed on the beach north
of the Santa Monica Pier early
Thursday morning in what appears
to be a gang-related racial
fight, according to police.
Four suspects -- all of them
Latino women -- are wanted in
the stabbing incident that took
place when two groups clashed
on the 1500 block of the Santa
Monica Beach at approximately
1:30 a.m.
“Prior to the assault,
one of the suspects yelled what
is thought to be the name of
street gang before stabbing
a 29-year old female from Los
Angeles,” said Lt. Alex
Padilla, the Police Department
spokesman.
During the fight, two other
adult victims -- a male and
female also from Los Angeles
-- sustained stab wounds to
their extremities, police said.
All three victims were transported
to a local hospital, where they
were treated, according to police.
Two of the victims were quickly
released, while the third underwent
surgery for a stab wound to
the chest, police said.
“At this time, this victim
is in serious condition and
expected to fully recover from
her injuries,” Padilla
said.
The suspects are described
Hispanic females between the
ages of 17 and 20. Three of
them have black hair and brown
eyes.
The first suspect is 5’
tall and weighs 130 pounds.
She was wearing a white shirt
and jeans.
The second suspect is 5’1”,
135 pounds and was wearing a
burgundy sweatshirt.
While the third suspect is
5’1”, 100 pounds
and was wearing a white tube-top
blouse, blue jeans and blue
LA Dodgers jacket.
No further description was
provided for the fourth except
that she is “short in
stature.”
A red Toyota and a gray colored
vehicle were seen leaving the
area shortly after the assault,
Padilla said.
The investigation is ongoing.
