November 23 -- The songs of carolers will fill the air,
trees will twinkled with lights as curious woodland creatures
peer through the foliage, and a dove will carry a special message
for all.
Those are among the sights and sounds that will greet holiday
shoppers beginning November 24, as they stroll down a Third Street
Promenade decked with enchanting holiday decorations and sparkling
lights.
This year’s Winterlit celebration will kick off with shoppers’
specials that include discounts, gifts with purchase, free shopping
bags (while supplies last) and free gift wrapping. In addition,
this year’s Winterlit events feature activities and entertainment
that can be enjoyed by kids, adults and even the household pet.
HOLIDAY SHOPPING SEASON KICK OFF
Friday, November 24 through Sunday, November 26, from 10 a.m.
to 7 p.m. daily. Shoppers get ready! Special deals throughout
the day at various retailers. Free shopping bags and free gift
wrapping. Enjoy music by holiday carolers all weekend long. This
is a free event.
WINTERLIT BEST GIFT EVER CHALLENGE FOR PAL
Ongoing through December 24. what was the “Best
Gift Ever” that you received? Well, donate that fond memory
as an unwrapped gift for one of the kids at the Santa Monica Police
Activities League (PAL). Donations accepted every weekend at the
Winterlit House (1300 Block of Third Street Promenade).

SANTA MONICA’S TOP MODEL SEARCH
Saturday, November 25 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Men, women
and children ages 7 to 18, can test their runway skills in the
Santa Monica’s Top Model contest sponsored by Santa Monica
Place and the Bayside District Corporation. The 25 winning contestants
will model clothing and accessories from merchants showing off
the latest in fashion and gift ideas at two holiday fashion shows
a week later on the Third Street Promenade. This is a free event.
WINTERLIT FASHION SHOW
Saturday, December 2, with two shows at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Winners of the modeling contest held the previous week participate
in two holiday fashion shows on the Third Street Promenade. Choreographed
to music, retailers from Santa Monica Place and Downtown Santa
Monica highlight their holiday apparel and accessories. This is
a free event.
WINTERLIT FUN! KID’S WEEKEND
Saturday, December 9 at 9 a.m. The whole family can enjoy
breakfast with Santa Claus at Santa Monica Place. Parents are
invited to bring their cameras to snap pictures of their kids
sharing their holiday wish list with Santa and enjoy breakfast.
Then, have fun doing arts & crafts with the Children’s
Museum of Los Angeles.
Sunday, December 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join us on
the Third Street Promenade for a fun day with the kids. Interactive
booths line the Promenade with arts & crafts, entertainment
and readings. Pony rides and a petting zoo. Plus, giveaways! These
are free events.
PET DAY with SANTA
Saturday, December 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Santa Monica
Place will host “Pet Day with Santa,” an opportunity
for families to have their pet’s picture taken with Santa
Claus. Treat your favorite member of the family to the Pet Lounge
featuring pet grooming and a fun obstacle course. Meeting Santa
is free and photo packages start at $10.99.
WINTERLIT HOUSE for AUCTION
Starting November 24 you can view the charming Winterlit playhouse
in center court located on the 1300 block of Third Street Promenade
between Santa Monica Blvd and Arizona Ave. between the dinosaurs!
This year we are holding a special on-line auction with the highest
bidder wining their very own playhouse. All proceeds will go to
the Santa Monica PAL. To place a bid, visit downtownsm.com or
