Don’t Change that Channel! By Lookout Staff May 17 -- For the sixth time in eight years, Santa Monica CityTV has won first place in a state competition for overall excellence in quality community television programming. The award was bestowed by the States of California and Nevada Chapter (SCAN) of the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) at a May 11 event at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica). “We are proud and pleased to be recognized for our programming,” said CityTV Station Manager Robin Gee. “Our thanks to all the staff, volunteers, City departments, schools and organizations that we feature on our channel for helping us to make quality programming for the Santa Monica community.” In addition to winning the best overall programming category, CityTV also won a first place award in the performing arts category for its popular “Downbeat Showdown” youth program, second place for “Santa Monica Update” in the news category and second place in the talk show category for “Legal Help Live.” CityTV is the government access cable channel for the City of Santa Monica. Seen on cable channel 16, CityTV is available to all Adelphia cable TV subscribers in the city. |
