Middle School Students Robbed
By Lookout Staff January 14 -- Two Lincoln Middle School students were robbed near the school Tuesday by two teenagers who made off with their cell phones and an iPod player, according to sources familiar with the police investigation. The robbery occurred at 3:20 p.m. near the Rite Aid on 14th Street and Wilshire Boulevard as the 13 and 14-year-old boys were walking down the street, police said. They were approached by the two 16-year-old suspects, who "demanded their cell phones and an iPod," said Lt. Frank Fabrega, the police department spokesman. "While the suspects were taking the items, one struck the victim in the face with his fist and forcibly took the cell phone," Fabrega said. The suspects were last seen running northbound on 14th Street toward Colorado Avenue, he said. The suspects are described as two male blacks, both wearing black hooded jackets and black pants. One is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds, the other 6 feet tall weighing 160 pounds. Anyone with information should call the Watch Commander's Office at 310-458-8426.
