Frazier Joins Lookout By Lookout Staff July 28 – Cindy Frazier, a veteran local journalist who has covered Santa Monica issues for more than a decade, has joined The Lookout as an editor and senior writer. The former news editor of the Argonaut, Frazier will be in charge of campaign coverage and political issues. She will also work on special reports and investigations. “We are pleased to welcome Cindy to The Lookout,” said editor and publisher Jorge Casuso. “She is a talented reporter and editor whose wealth of knowledge about the Santa Monica area will be a major asset to this publication.” “We are happy Cindy has joined The Lookout in its continuing effort to provide Santa Monica with fair and objective news coverage,” said Iris Oliveras, co principal of surfsantamonica.com. “She is highly qualified and esteemed by leaders and also Santa Monica readers.” Frazier, who is a longtime resident of Santa Monica, has covered the area for The Outlook, which folded in 1998, and the LA Weekly, among other publications. She won an award for investigative reporting for an article regarding a property issue in Pacific Palisades and has been honored for her column writing. Frazier also was the managing editor for the now-defunct Santa Monica News and the lead reporter for the Santa Monica Argonaut, before joining The Argonaut, where she served as news editor for four years. Frazier has a journalism degree from Cal State Northridge and a literature degree from Bennington College in Vermont. |
