Services Tuesday for Landlord Advocate John Jurenka

Services for John Jurenka, a long-time landlord activist and Santa Monica booster, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Gates, Kingsley, Gates, 1925 Arizona Avenue.

Jurenka, a native-Chicagoan known for his outspokenness and keen knowledge of City government, died January 14 after battling heart problems and diabetes for more than a decade. He was 73.

"He loved the city," said his daughter Jana Emhardt. "This was his life."
