Saint John's Once Again Accepting Blue Cross
By Teresa Rochester
After a nearly six-month deadlock, Saint John's Health Center and Blue
Cross of California have reached an agreement on hospital reimbursement
levels, reinstating the health center as a participating provider in the
insurance company's network of hospitals as of Feb. 1.
All 30,000 Blue Cross subscribers who had received care at the hospital
in the 18 months prior to the contract stalemate will be notified in a
letter from the health center, said Bruce Lamoureux, Saint John's chief
executive officer.
While not going into details, Lamoureux said the issue had been resolved
to the satisfaction of both parties.
"We're delighted to be able to care for Blue Cross policy holders
once again and look forward to serving those individuals in the future,"
Lamoureux said.
On Aug. 4, 2000 Saint John's announced it would no longer accept Blue Cross
of California after the two entities were unable to agree on appropriate
levels of reimbursement for services. |
