Tenant Dependency Is Not Just a Money Issue

November 4, 2021

Dear Editor,

The eviction moratorium seems to be never ending, and every day that goes by the tenants are more and more crippled ("City Extends Emergency Health Orders, Tenant Protections," November 2, 2021).

They are being mentally destroyed by "Free Stuff "and cannot move into the middle class or enjoy the upward mobility that real estate ownership provides.

My hardworking honest family has been in the housing industry for nearly 70 years, and whenever we have brokered a property or had investors put money into a property they have always been transformed into a more confident, stronger adult and a more positive minded person. They become the captains of their own ship of dreams.

I blame the voters. I point my finger directly at my fellow citizens. It's those men and women who continually vote for the left, the anti private property groups, who continue to dehumanize property ownership (except naturally when the toilet is clogged).

The progressive elected officials have enjoyed tremendous growth because they know best for you. They own real estate and enjoy wealth, while you are crippled by not having to pay rent and be responsible for yourself.

One day the bill will come due. But by then, your mental wellbeing and self confidence has been destroyed by succumbing to the weakest side of your soul, the taking of someone else's money without earning it.

Perhaps one day before it's too late those who keep voting for the liberals will wake up and realize that they have destroyed themselves and taken away all motivation to become something other than a taker, that it's all about the courage and motivation to become successful and participate in the American dream.

I truly understand the position of the elected officials because they want to stay in power and they keep destroying our private property rights. Over the last 25 years we've seen home ownership rates drop.

It's not a money issue, it's a mental issue.
