Veritas Untruths

I have recently learned that the promoters of the so-called Veritas Charter Amendment have circulated flyers and press releases suggesting that I am supportive of their ill-conceived plan, and stating that I have supported similar measures in the past.

Both these claims are untrue. I am strongly opposed to the so-called Veritas measure. About a decade ago, I briefly supported one (very different) districting plan. But, after I studied the matter further, I concluded that dividing Santa Monica into council districts would be wrong for our small city.

"Veritas" in Latin means "truth." It is unfortunate that the sponsors of this poorly conceived ballot measure have used untruths to launch their campaign.
