Launched in 2010, the series at the 1929 Spanish Revival-Style structure seeks to "reignite the Playhouse’s large period fireplace as a community gathering space for the arts as it was in the 1930s and 40s," Cultural Affairs officials said.

The performances take place in an "intimate" historic setting that offers couches, candles, and a coffee and tea bar, officials said.

Performances are scheduled on Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. between January 11, 2019 and February 23, 2019.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the shows will run from 8 to 10 p.m.

February performances feature ‘Jazz Fridays’ with a line-up of the Gregory Poree Band, Natalie Jacob, Nick Mancini’s new nine-piece combo and Southern California jazz singer Angie Wells.

Saturdays feature composer and singer Julie Pusch & Friends, local choreographer Suchi Branfman & guests and dancer/choreographer Angela Todaro curating an evening of contemporary dance.

Amy Raasch wraps up the series on Saturday, February 23 with her one woman show “Animal Monologues.”

Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for youth age 18 and under, adults age 55 and over and students of any age.
