November 3, 2017 -- A suspect described as tall, thin ponytailed white male is being sought by Santa Monica police in connection with a stabbing Friday in the vicinity of Fourth Street and Santa Monica Boulevard.

Police said officers responded to a radio call for help at about 11:25 Friday morning, arriving to find a male with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.

The fire department arrived to treat the victim, who was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable but serious condition.

Stabbing Suspect

“Officers on scene learned that the suspect and victim were involved in some type of confrontation prior to the stabbing," a statement from the department said.

"The suspect involved immediately fled the area prior to police arrival.”

The suspect has been described as a Male/White in his 20s or 30s. He has a thin build, long light brown hair in a bun/ponytail and was wearing all black clothing and a black backpack.

Police released a photograph of the suspect taken by the victim immediately after the stabling.

“The weapon used was an unknown stabbing instrument," police said.

"This suspect should be considered armed and dangerous, as the knife or other stabbing instrument is still outstanding."

Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the suspect. Anyone who locates him should immediately call 9-1-1.

Anyone with additional information as to the identification and whereabouts of this suspect should contact Detective Larios (310) 458-8937 or the Santa Monica Police Department (310) 458-8491.
