Executive Director Appointed for S.M. History Museum

June 23, 2010 -- Stuart Laff was recently appointed executive director for the Santa Monica History Museum, the Santa Monica Historical Society announced last week. The Historical Society is preparing to move to a new Downtown location next to the Main Library. That opening of the new museum is expected to take place this year (See: Making History, April 14, 2010.)
Stuart Laff has long been involved with nonprofit and community organizations in the Los Angeles area. He is President of the Los Angeles Community College Foundation, co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles Business Council and serves on the boards of the California Conservation Corps and Excellent Education Through Charter Schools. Laff is a former board member of the Center for Healthy Aging (now WISE & Healthy Aging) in Santa Monica.
“It’s great to have a museum that represents the history and culture of Santa Monica,” Laff said in a press release. “I’m excited to be part of it.”
Laff has more than 30 years of real estate and facilities experience. His work includes financial analysis of real estate opportunities, improving real estate business processes, promoting advances in real estate technology, operational efficiencies/process improvements of real estate departments and facilitating lease transactions.
