Suspect Tied to String of Westside Burglaries By Lookout Staff Sept. 29 -- Police nabbed a burglar who broke into a garage on the city's eastside Saturday afternoon, then quickly tied her to a series of recent burglaries across the Westside. The suspect, Orange Eryn Battison, 31, was arrested and taken to the Santa Monica Jail. She was booked for burglary, possession of methamphetamine and parole violation. No bail was set. The incident occurred 3:27 p.m. when police responding to the 3100 block of Colorado regarding a burglary in progress found Battison inside a detached garage. Police determined that Battison had broken into the garage and located her vehicle near the crime scene. A search of the vehicle found that it was full of stolen property taken during other recent burglaries. Detectives from the Crimes Against Property Unit conducted a follow-up investigation, which included serving a search warrant at a local storage facility. Police found a large amount of property taken in other burglaries and related crimes. Detectives were able to identify additional crime victims, mostly from the Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, and West Los Angeles areas. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call Sergeant Lowe at 310.458.8453 or Detective Bambrick at 310.458.8932. |
